E-Verify
E-Verify is a free, web-based system operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration, designed to help employers verify the employment eligibility of their new hires. When an employer submits an employee’s information, such as name, date of birth, and Social Security number, E-Verify compares it against federal records to confirm whether the individual is authorized to work in the United States. The program is voluntary for most employers but is mandatory for federal contractors and in certain states with laws requiring its use. E-Verify aims to reduce illegal employment and ensure compliance with immigration laws.
House Bill 252 would make E-Verify mandatory in Idaho
This bill was introduced in House State Affairs on February 14th but has yet to receive a hearing! Why? Are the agriculture and dairy lobbyists really that powerful? Does their desire to keep importing cheap foreign labor outweigh the rule of law in America?
